What happened in 2017?

You can find more details about our experience in our newsletters.

23. 12. 2016 – 20. 1. 2017 we were in India. We lived in a purely Indian tourist-free environment, dressed Indian and were very well looked after.

On January 28, 2017, a team from CTTM came to our village for an outreach.

In India, we had learned through a phone call from our co-workers that Sarot Pukrot, the former mayor of Ban Kaosamchan who had rented Christine her first house, had passed away. After our return we made a condolence visit to his widow. It turned out that she was willing to rent this house to us again, and we fixed that right away. We had this house renovated: It then serves as a house for our ministry: Here the children’s and youth work takes place and the fortnightly care for needy families and individuals. For meetings with people from the village, Christine is in the house on 3 afternoons to be there for people who want to stop by.

Khun Somdjit, the father of Khun Fon, who had rebuilt our house 3, died on March 11 and was buried on the 16th. In the weeks before he had to be taken to the hospital frequently, and 5 days after his death the coffin was in the house and every evening there was an event with a group of Buddhist monks. Afterwards our staff were very exhausted.

On June 14 – 18, 2017, we were at CTTM’s Pastoral Leaders Training in Khon Kaen.

From July 1 – 28, 2017 we visited our friends in India again.

On September 18 – 26, 2017 we took a vacation in a hotel in Bangkok.

In the fall, Sr. Irene and Sr. Ingrid from Amerongen in the Netherlands visited us.

On December 4-6, 2017, we attended the Ministerial Convention of CTTM in Khon Kaen.
